North America power plant tenders activity up 31% in Q1 2020

There were 38 power plant tenders announced in the North America region in Q1 2020, marking a rise of 31% over the last 12-month average of 29, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q1 2020 with 250 tenders and a 48.6% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 159 tenders and a 30.9% share and Energy Storage with 44 tenders and an 8.6% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 35 tenders and a 92.1% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 5.3% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one tender and a 2.6% share.

Solar is top technology for North America power plant tenders in Q1 2020
