North America T&D equipment tenders activity up 58% in July 2020

There were 103 T&D equipment tenders announced in the North America region in July 2020, marking a rise of 58% over the last 12-month average of 65, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in July 2020 with 103 tenders and a 42.7% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 94 tenders and a 39% share and Energy Storage with 17 tenders and a 7.1% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 94 tenders and a 91.3% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: nine tenders and an 8.7% share.

Thermal is top technology for North America T&D equipment tenders in July 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the North America region, thermal accounted for three tenders with a 75% share, followed by hydro with one tender and a 25% share.
