North America T&D equipment tenders activity down 6% in Q1 2021
Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

There were 277 T&D equipment tenders announced in the North America region in Q1 2021, marking a drop of 6% over the last four-quarter average of 296, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q1 2021 with 277 tenders and a 39.4% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 261 tenders and a 37.1% share and Power Plant with 51 tenders and a 7.3% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 260 tenders and a 93.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 16 tenders and a 5.8% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 0.4% share.

Hydro is top technology for North America T&D equipment tenders in Q1 2021

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the North America region, hydro accounted for five tenders with a 45.5% share, followed by thermal with four tenders and a 36.4% share and wind with one tender and a 9.1% share.
