Global power industry tenders in October 2020: Thermal technology down 25%

Thermal technology tenders activity in October 2020 saw 121 tenders announced, marking a drop of 25% over the last 12-month average of 161, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

Oil was the top category in thermal technology in terms of number of tenders for the month, accounting for 90 tenders and a 74.4% share, followed by Coal with 17 tenders and a 14% share. Gas stood in third place with 14 tenders and an 11.6% share.

Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, thermal held the second position in terms of number of tenders during October 2020 with a 39.8% share.
