Global power industry tenders in Q2 2019: Nuclear technology up 40%

Nuclear technology tenders activity in Q2 2019 saw 21 tenders announced, marking a rise of 40% over the last four-quarter average of 15, according to GlobalData's power industry tenders database.

Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, nuclear held the fifth position in terms of number of tenders during Q2 2019 with a 1.7% share.

The proportion of tenders by category in the Nuclear technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 16 tenders and a 76.2% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 9.5% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 4.8% share
  4. Project Implementation: one tender and a 4.8% share

Europe leads nuclear tenders activity in Q2 2019

Comparing tenders activity in nuclear technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 16 tenders and a share of 76.2% during Q2 2019, followed by Asia-Pacific with three tenders and a 14.3% share and Middle East and Africa with one tender and a 4.8% share.

In fourth place was North America with one tender and a 4.8% share.
