Power plant tenders in June 2019 saw 133 tenders announced, marking a drop of 11% over the last 12-month average of 149, according to GlobalData's power industry tenders database.

The proportion of power plant tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 92 tenders and a 69.2% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 23 tenders and a 17.3% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: 16 tenders and a 12% share.

Asia-Pacific leads Power Plant activity in June 2019

Comparing tenders activity in Power Plant segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 96 tenders and a share of 72.2% during June 2019, followed by North America with 13 tenders and a 9.8% share and Middle East and Africa with 12 tenders and a 9% share.

Solar is leading technology for power plant tenders in June 2019

Among the technologies, Solar accounted for 103 tenders with a 70.5% share, followed by Hydro with 14 tenders and a 9.6% share and Thermal with 11 tenders and a 7.5% share.

The top issuers of Power Plant segment tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 10,200MW from four tenders
  2. Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (Kuwait): 2,000MW from one tender
