Power plant tenders in Q3 2020 saw 436 tenders announced, marking a rise of 32% over the last four-quarter average of 331, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 362 tenders and an 83% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 46 tenders and a 10.6% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 28 tenders and a 6.4% share.

Asia-Pacific leads power plant activity in Q3 2020

Comparing tenders activity in power plant segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 261 tenders and a share of 59.9% during Q3 2020, followed by Europe with 81 tenders and an 18.6% share and North America with 44 tenders and a 10.1% share.

Solar is leading technology for power plant tenders in Q3 2020

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 361 tenders with an 80.9% share, followed by hydro with 30 tenders and a 6.7% share and thermal with 23 tenders and a 5.2% share.
