Smart grid tenders up 2% in Q4 2019

Smart grid tenders in Q4 2019 saw 48 tenders announced, marking a rise of 2% over the last four-quarter average of 47, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 23 tenders and a 47.9% share
  2. Project Implementation: 18 tenders and a 37.5% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: seven tenders and a 14.6% share.

Middle East and Africa leads smart grid activity in Q4 2019

Comparing tenders activity in smart grid segment in different regions of the globe, Middle East and Africa held the top position with 22 tenders and a share of 45.8% during Q4 2019, followed by Asia-Pacific with 13 tenders and a 27.1% share and North America with seven tenders and a 14.6% share.

Hydro is leading technology for smart grid tenders in Q4 2019
