Power industry tenders in South and Central America for November 2020 up 29%

South and Central America power industry tenders activity in November 2020 saw 22 tenders announced, marking a rise of 29% over the last 12-month average of 17, according to GlobalData’s power database.

South and Central America power industry tenders in November 2020: Bolivia leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, Bolivia led the activity in November 2020 with seven tenders and a share of 31.8%, up 8% over the previous month and up 40% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Trinidad and Tobago with six tenders and a share of 27.3% and Uruguay with three tenders and a share of 13.6% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Bolivia held the top spot with five tenders, followed by Brazil with two and Trinidad and Tobago with two tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in November 2020

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with three tenders and a 60% share, followed by wind with one tender and a 20% share and hydro with one tender and a 20% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in South and Central America as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in November 2020, with 13 tenders, followed by T&D Project (4) and Energy Storage (3).
