South and Central America T&D equipment tenders activity up 45% in Q4 2020

There were 29 T&D equipment tenders announced in the South and Central America region in Q4 2020, marking a rise of 45% over the last four-quarter average of 20, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the South and Central America region in Q4 2020 with 29 tenders and a 46.8% share, followed by T&D Project with 13 tenders and a 21% share and Electricity Procurement with eight tenders and a 12.9% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 28 tenders and a 96.6% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one tender and a 3.4% share.

Hydro is top technology for South and Central America T&D equipment tenders in Q4 2020

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the South and Central America region, hydro accounted for two tenders with a 100% share.
