T&D equipment tenders in April 2020 saw 230 tenders announced, marking a drop of 8% over the last 12-month average of 251, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 184 tenders and an 80% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 46 tenders and a 20% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D equipment activity in April 2020

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 110 tenders and a share of 47.8% during April 2020, followed by North America with 93 tenders and a 40.4% share and Europe with 19 tenders and an 8.3% share.

Thermal is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in April 2020

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for 16 tenders with a 59.3% share, followed by hydro with ten tenders and a 37% share and nuclear with one tender and a 3.7% share.
