Oil and gas companies are making moves into the UK energy market.

T&D equipment tenders in December 2019 saw 200 tenders announced, marking a drop of 25% over the last 12-month average of 266, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 173 tenders and an 86.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 25 tenders and a 12.5% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 0.5% share
  4. Project Implementation: one tender and a 0.5% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D equipment activity in December 2019

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 105 tenders and a share of 52.5% during December 2019, followed by North America with 49 tenders and a 24.5% share and Middle East and Africa with 25 tenders and a 12.5% share.

Hydro is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in December 2019

Among the technologies, hydro accounted for six tenders with a 46.2% share, followed by thermal with six tenders and a 46.2% share and wind with one tender and a 7.7% share.
