T&D equipment tenders up 7% in July 2019

T&D equipment tenders in July 2019 saw 289 tenders announced, marking a rise of 7% over the last 12-month average of 271, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 261 tenders and a 90% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 29 tenders and a 10% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D equipment activity in July 2019

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 126 tenders and a share of 43.4% during July 2019, followed by Middle East and Africa with 87 tenders and a 30% share and North America with 49 tenders and a 16.9% share.

Thermal is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in July 2019

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for nine tenders with a 60% share, followed by hydro with six tenders and a 40% share.
