T&D equipment tenders up 4% in March 2020

T&D equipment tenders in March 2020 saw 264 tenders announced, marking a rise of 4% over the last 12-month average of 253, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 235 tenders and an 89% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 26 tenders and a 9.8% share
  3. Project Implementation: three tenders and a 1.1% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D equipment activity in March 2020

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 122 tenders and a share of 46.2% during March 2020, followed by North America with 107 tenders and a 40.5% share and Middle East and Africa with 16 tenders and a 6.1% share.

Thermal is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in March 2020

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for eight tenders with a 61.5% share, followed by hydro with four tenders and a 30.8% share and solar with one tender and a 7.7% share.
