T&D equipment tenders in May 2020 saw 240 tenders announced, marking a drop of 3% over the last 12-month average of 247, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 211 tenders and an 87.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 29 tenders and a 12.1% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D equipment activity in May 2020

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 110 tenders and a share of 45.8% during May 2020, followed by North America with 99 tenders and a 41.3% share and Europe with 23 tenders and a 9.6% share.

Hydro is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in May 2020

Among the technologies, hydro accounted for eight tenders with a 66.7% share, followed by thermal with three tenders and a 25% share and wind with one tender and an 8.3% share.
