T&D equipment tenders up 5% in November 2020

T&D equipment tenders in November 2020 saw 278 tenders announced, marking a rise of 5% over the last 12-month average of 265, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Supply & Erection: 246 tenders and an 88.5% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 29 tenders and a 10.4% share
3. Project Implementation: three tenders and a 1.1% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D equipment activity in November 2020

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 142 tenders and a share of 51.1% during November 2020, followed by North America with 82 tenders and a 29.5% share and Middle East and Africa with 23 tenders and an 8.3% share.

Thermal is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in November 2020

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for 13 tenders with a 65% share, followed by hydro with four tenders and a 20% share and solar with two tenders and a 10% share.
