T&D equipment tenders up 47% in September 2020

T&D equipment tenders in September 2020 saw 356 tenders announced, marking a rise of 47% over the last 12-month average of 242, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 302 tenders and an 84.8% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 43 tenders and a 12.1% share
  3. Project Implementation: 11 tenders and a 3.1% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D equipment activity in September 2020

Comparing tenders activity in T&D equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 160 tenders and a share of 44.9% during September 2020, followed by North America with 112 tenders and a 31.5% share and Europe with 39 tenders and an 11% share.

Thermal is leading technology for T&D equipment tenders in September 2020

Among the technologies, thermal accounted for seven tenders with a 43.8% share, followed by hydro with four tenders and a 25% share and nuclear with three tenders and an 18.8% share.
