T&D project tenders in February 2020 saw 300 tenders announced, marking a drop of 20% over the last 12-month average of 376, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 242 tenders and an 80.7% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 52 tenders and a 17.3% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 1.3% share
  4. Supply & Erection: two tenders and a 0.7% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D project activity in February 2020

Comparing tenders activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 262 tenders and a share of 87.3% during February 2020, followed by Europe with 23 tenders and a 7.7% share and Middle East and Africa with 12 tenders and a 4% share.

Solar is leading technology for T&D project tenders in February 2020

Among the technologies, solar accounted for two tenders with a 40% share, followed by thermal with two tenders and a 40% share and wind with one tender and a 20% share.
