T&D project tenders in January 2021 saw 110 tenders announced, marking a drop of 50% over the last 12-month average of 222, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 61 tenders and a 55.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 43 tenders and a 39.1% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: six tenders and a 5.5% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D project activity in January 2021

Comparing tenders activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 63 tenders and a share of 57.3% during January 2021, followed by Middle East and Africa with 22 tenders and a 20% share and Europe with 13 tenders and an 11.8% share.

Solar is leading technology for T&D project tenders in January 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for four tenders with a 66.7% share, followed by wind with one tender and a 16.7% share and hydro with one tender and a 16.7% share.
