T&D project tenders up 17% in Q2 2019

T&D project tenders in Q2 2019 saw 1,087 tenders announced, marking a rise of 17% over the last four-quarter average of 926, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 641 tenders and a 59% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 429 tenders and a 39.5% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: 17 tenders and a 1.6% share.

Asia-Pacific leads T&D project activity in Q2 2019

Comparing tenders activity in T&D project segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 835 tenders and a share of 76.8% during Q2 2019, followed by Middle East and Africa with 146 tenders and a 13.4% share and Europe with 72 tenders and a 6.6% share.

Solar is leading technology for T&D project tenders in Q2 2019

Among the technologies, solar accounted for four tenders with a 40% share, followed by thermal with three tenders and a 30% share and hydro with two tenders and a 20% share.
