Coronavirus company news summary – GE Renewable Energy delivers 13 turbines – Vestas contracted for Egyptian wind farm

GE Renewable Energy has secured a deal to deliver 13 of its 5.3MW Cypress wind turbines to the E energija Telšiai onshore wind farm in Lithuania. Initial civil and electrical work on the 68.9MW wind farm started in July this year, and the first turbine delivery of GE’s Cypress platform is expected in April 2021.

Canadian Solar has started construction of a large commercial and industrial rooftop solar project in Malaysia. The 5MWp project will cover an area of more than 26,000m², built in collaboration with Antah Solar and Eleaps, The project will begin commercial operation by the end of the year.

Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority will soon sign a deal for the implementation of a 250MW wind power plant with Vestas, Daily News Egypt reported. The signing of the contract was delayed due to the circumstances created by the Covid-19 pandemic, undisclosed sources told the publication.

Dominion Energy has acquired the 62.5MW Madison Solar generating facility from Cypress Creek Renewables in Orange County, Virginia. Owned by Dominion Energy's contracted assets arm, the project has secured all permits and will enter service in the second quarter of 2022.
