BGR Energy Systems has been awarded a balance of plant (BOP) contract for two 660MW supercritical thermal power projects from Thermal Powertech Corporation India.
Under the Rs21.6bn ($488.7m) project, BGR will provide design, engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing, transportation, erection of equipment, civil and structural works, commissioning and guarantee test.
The greenfield project will include one coal-handling plant, a sea water-based RO plant and an intake water system from the sea for the makeup water to the plant.
The coal-based thermal power project will be funded by a consortium of banks led by Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), and will be located at Krishnapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
