SolarReserve has received two Certificates of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) from the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee, approving the Crossroads Solar Energy Project.

The 500MW project to be built in Maricopa County, Arizona, US, will be able to store ten hours of solar energy using the molten salt, power technology by Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne.

The project will be completed in two years, and will supply about 450,000MWh of electricity annually – enough to power up to 100,000 homes.

Crossroads Solar Energy Project is expected to generate tax revenues of over $100m over the first ten years of operation.
