GE and Turkish firm Gama Energy are to construct a 900MW gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant (CCGT) for Akenerji in Hatay, Turkey.

The CCGT plant will be equipped in accordance to the highest technological standards and is expected to efficiently meet the flexible operation needs that market conditions require.

The plant will be equipped with a developed burning system and will comply with carbon emission criteria and European Union standards.

GE will supply main energy generation equipment such as gas and steam turbines and boilers for the project.

Gama will be responsible for engineering services, construction and electro-mechanical installations, as well as the supply of all related equipment and systems.

The partnership offered a fixed-price and time-bound energy performance certificate and the power plant is expected to become operational in 2014.
