SunPower will deliver a total of 711MW of solar power to Southern California Edison (SEC) under three power purchase agreements signed by the firms.

SEC estimates that the 711MW of power produced from solar technology installed by SunPower at the Rosamond and Los Banos sites in California, US, will be sufficient to power 460,000 homes in the state.

The three contracts include construction of a 110MW plant in Los Banos, and a 325MW plant and a 276MW unit in Rosamond.

The Los Banos plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2014, while the other two plants will be in service by October 2016.

SunPower plans to deploy the SunPower Oasis power block, which will use 425W SunPower solar panels and the SunPower T0 Tracker.

The contracts are a result of SCE's voluntary competitive renewables solicitation and are contingent on approval by the California Public Utilities Commission and all applicable environmental reviews and permits.
