Toshiba Corporation, Westinghouse Electric and Rolls-Royce Group will together bid for a nuclear power plant contract in the UK.

BAE Systems, Doosan Power Systems, Shaw Group and Laing O'Rourke will join the majors for a reactor order on the Wylfa site.

Horizon Nuclear Power is studying Westinghouse's AP-1000 reactor and the EPR reactor from Areva, and is scheduled to finish its assessment in June 2011.

Toshiba spokesman Hiroki Yamazaki told Bloomberg that Toshiba and its partners would build three AP-1000 reactors at the Wylfa site, and another three at the Oldbury power station.
