Georgia Power has acquired a series of solar projects of up to 1MW in Georgia, US, co-developed by United Renewable Energy and Mack Creek Energy.
The company plans to lease the property for the solar facility from Dalton Utilities, which will buy 100% of the plant’s capacity and energy through a 25-year power purchase agreement.
The facility, to be built in phases, will be capable of generating 350KW in each phase and is expected to start the first phase of commercial operations in spring 2011.
Georgia Power also has the option to develop two more 350KW phases for a total of 1MW by January 2014.
