The construction of the first unit at the 324MW Al Sadr power-plant in Iraq has been completed, the Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Mohammad Behzad has announced.

The first unit is waiting for the fuel supply to begin operations.

The second unit of the plant is expected to be ready for operation in 45 days, reports IRINN.

Iran plans to increase its electricity supply to Iraq to 1GW with a 400KW Karkheh-Al-Amarah power line and export power to Lebanon through Iraq and Syria.
