Pike Electric to Build Transmission Lines for Nuclear Station

Pike Electric will build transmission lines associated with the expansion of the VC Summer Nuclear Station in South Carolina, under an EPC contract SCANA. Under the $275m contract, Pike will undertake construction of 250 miles of new 230kV transmission lines in South Carolina. The

Pike Electric will build transmission lines associated with the expansion of the VC Summer Nuclear Station in South Carolina, under an EPC contract SCANA.

Under the $275m contract, Pike will undertake construction of 250 miles of new 230kV transmission lines in South Carolina.

The lines will support the VC Summer 2 and 3 nuclear units being added by South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) and the South Carolina Public Service Authority (Santee Cooper).

The transmission lines are expected to be completed for Unit 2 by the end of 2014 and for Unit 3 by the end of 2018.

Unit 2 is expected to come onstream in 2016, followed by Unit 3 in 2019.
