Kenersys Opens New Wind Turbine Plant

Kenersys has opened its wind turbine manufacturing plant in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The firm plans to produce 250 large turbines a year at the plant. Each turbine will have a 2MW capacity. Kenersys has invested INR500m ($10.7m) in manufacturing the plant and INR4.5bn ($97m)

Kenersys has opened its wind turbine manufacturing plant in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

The firm plans to produce 250 large turbines a year at the plant. Each turbine will have a 2MW capacity.

Kenersys has invested INR500m ($10.7m) in manufacturing the plant and INR4.5bn ($97m) on research and development.

Group chairman B N Kalyani, said the company aims to produce high-end equipment in Asia.

The firm also plans to invest another INR1.5bn ($32.3m) in the project by end of the 2012.
