Juhl Wind has completed the construction of a utility scale wind power project and will begin commercial operation in Meeker County, Minnesota, US.

With an investment of about $42m, the Danielson wind project will generate 19.8MW of power.

The wind farm, the construction of which began in October 2010, will house 12 Alstom ECO 86 wind turbines.

Under a 20-year power purchase agreement, the Danielson project will sell all of its power to Xcel Energy.

Ownership of the project, based on Juhl’s ‘Community Wind’ model, will be shared with the local residents and farmers who own the land where the project is located.
