Fluor is building a 20MW Copper Crossing photovoltaic solar power plant in Pinal County, Arizona, US, for SunPower, under a new contract.

The Copper Crossing project is being developed by Iberdrola Renewables, which will own and operate the project, once complete.

The plant will use the SunPower Oasis Power Plant product, which integrates the SunPower T0 Tracker with its high-efficiency, E19 series solar panels, pre-manufactured system cabling and other advanced features.

The power blocks are shipped pre-assembled to the site for rapid field installation.

Construction on the plant began in December 2010 and is expected to be fully operational later this year.
