Constellation Energy has begun work to install 5.38MW of photovoltaic solar panels at the Toys 'R' Us distribution center in New Jersey, US.

The rooftop installation will occupy an 869,294ft² area and is estimated to generate 6,362MWh of electricity for the facility.

This solar power installation will consist of 37,000 ultra lightweight UNI-SOLAR brand photovoltaic solar panels, manufactured by United Solar, a subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices.

Constellation Energy will own and maintain the system and will supply power to the facility as part of a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The rooftop system is in line with requirements set by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey Highlands Council and Mount Olive Township.

The installation is scheduled to be complete this year.

Toys 'R' Us is a US-based retailer of toy and juvenile products.
