Alstom has secured a contract worth €200m to construct and service three wind farms for Brasventos in Rio Grande do Norte State in Brazil.

The farms are expected to have an estimated generating capacity of 580,000MWh per year, which is sufficient to power 100,000 households.

Work under the contract includes supply, installation, commissioning and long-term servicing of ECO 86 wind turbines, which will be supplied from Alstom’s manufacturing plant in Bahia, Brazil, and Bunuel, Spain.

The facilities will use Alstom’s SCADA system, which ensures local and remote access to wind turbine data for optimised operation and maintenance.
