GE Hitachi secures nuclear services contract from Exelon

GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) has secured a $150m integrated outage contract from Exelon Nuclear to ensure the safety and performance of the boiling water reactors (BWR) at nuclear plants in the US. Under the contract, GEH will provide services for assisting with the refuel floor act

GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) has secured a $150m integrated outage contract from Exelon Nuclear to ensure the safety and performance of the boiling water reactors (BWR) at nuclear plants in the US.

Under the contract, GEH will provide services for assisting with the refuel floor activities and performing the under-vessel and inspection services.

The company will also deploy new technologies during outage projects to reduce worker dosage, enhance safety and improve plant performance.

The contract includes the entire fleet of Exelon BWRs in Clinton Power Station, Lasalle Generating Station, Quad Cities Generating Station and Dresden Generating Station in Illinois; Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station and Limerick Generating Station in Pennsylvania; and Oyster Creek Generating Station in New Jersey.
