The Hunan province of China is planning to invest RMB 1.2bn in the wind power industry this year. The province is also aiming for an annual production of 1GW within the next ten years.

At present the Yangtian Lake project, which has the capability of 77.44 million kWh per year is being constructed by China Huadian Corporation's Hunan subsidiary. The Yangtian Lake project may commence production before 2010.

China Huadian Corporation is a wholly state-owned enterprise. The company produces and supplies electricity and provides other technology-based services.
