A-Power Energy Generation Systems has signed an agreement with Huaian Huapeng Biomass Electricity to design, construct, install and test two 18MW electricity-generation systems using biomass as fuel in the city of Huaian, China.

The total value of the contract is estimated to be CNY360m and the project is likely to be in operation by December 2010.

A-Power will be in charge of the overall design of the plant and will also be responsible for the construction, procurement, assembly and installation of equipment.

A-Power is a Chinese provider of distributed power generation systems and manufacturer of wind turbines.
