TEPCO To Raise Output At Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Plant

TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company) plans to increase output of the 1,356MW No.7 nuclear unit at its Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant to full capacity as part of a test run. The company has received permission from Japan's trade ministry to increase reactor output from 75% to 100%.

TEPCO restarted the unit on 9 May for the first time since the nuclear plant in northern Japan was forced to close nearly two years ago following a major earthquake.
