Renewables energy company Western Wind Energy and its wholly-owned subsidiary Aero Energy have acquired important areas of land for potential projects, the Western has announced.

The purchase from private land owners totalled $1m.

The land forms part of a very strategic connection corridor between Western Wind Energy's Windstar project and the newly acquired Windswept Project, the company said.

The Windswept project could support up to an additional 30MW, the company said.
