Vestas Wins Fujian Wind Turbines Order

Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has received an order for 17 V80-2MW wind turbines from China Fujian (Pingtan) Wind Energy Company, a subsidiary of Fujian Investment Group.

The turbines are for the Pingtan Aoqian wind farm project, located on Pingtan Island in the eastern part of Fujian province.

The contract includes supply and commissioning of the wind turbines, a Vestas Online Business SCADA system and a two-year service and maintenance agreement.

Delivery of the turbines is planned to take place in the fourth quarter of 2009.

This marks Vestas's first sales agreement with Fujian Investment Group.

"Fujian Investment Group has established a business at the forefront of modern technology with a focus on building a green, clean and sustainable China," Vestas China president Lars Andersen said.
