Private TV channel GEO said the power supply to large areas of the metropolis was suspended as a result of catastrophic downpours that began over the weekend, reports Xinhua.
Several areas of city are still deprived of a power supply with officials unsure as to whether it can be restored.
Meanwhile, the death toll in rain-related incidents in the country’s largest city reached 61 as 10 more bodies were found from various places as rain restarted on Monday night, according to local newspaper reports on Tuesday.
