Renewable power company Nevada Geothermal Power (NGP) has completed construction of a geothermal power station at Blue Mountain in Northern Nevada, US.

The 49.5MW Faulkner 1 will become operational in early October with a firm output capacity of nearly 28 to 30MW (net).

Plant commissioning for the station has started and is likely to finish by the end of September, according to the company.

The plant will connect to the Sierra Pacific Power Company (SPPC) power grid through a 21-mile power line interconnection.
