Alternative energy company TrustPower has cancelled its proposed 48MW wind farm, according to local reports.

Plans to build the wind farm, 50km south of Adelaide at Myponga, are believed to have been called off following a dispute between the South Australian government and the company.

The government did not agree with the company on variation of height, layout and turbine type laid out in the existing planning approval, according to New Zealand publication stuff.co.nz.

The project had received planning approval in November 2003 for the construction and operation of up to 20 wind turbines and related infrastructure.
