Technology provider Invensys Operations Management has signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Coastal Gujarat Power, a unit of Tata Power, to provide end-to-end integrated services designed to improve India's first ultra-mega power plant.

The 4,000MW coal-fired plant will be the country's largest coal-fired power plant when completed in 2013.

Under the terms of the agreement, Invensys will provide technology for distributed and critical control systems, emergency shutdown systems and advanced process control.

The scope of the project includes the provision of end-to-end solutions, from boiler management systems to turbine auxiliary controls, with interfaces for seamless systems integration with other technology vendors.
