Enel Boosts French Wind Capacity

Italy's biggest renewable energy company, Enel Green Power, has boosted its wind power generation capacity in France, the company has announced.

Generation capacity has been ramped up to more than 56MW by adding 18MW of wind parks in the Champagne-Ardenne region.

Enel Green Power aims to install another 12MW of wind power facilities by the end of 2009 to create a 30MW wind farm in Vallee d'Arce which will be its main wind power site in France, the company said in a statement.

Enel Green Power is also developing 46MW of wind parks in France, part of its 500MW pipeline of wind energy projects, it said.

Enel Green Power has wind, solar, hydro and other renewable energy assets with a total installed capacity of above 4,500MW in 14 counties in Europe and North and South America.
