Thailand’s Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency said it would use the money to finance up to 80% of its total investment in green energy technology, according to bangkokpost.com.

The department said it expected the World Bank to start issuing the loans in early 2010 as part of its Clean Technology Fund.
