Kingsnorth Power Station Recovery Delayed

The second unit of Kingsnorth coal-fired power station in England will take time to recover from the damage caused by a fire in its pump room, operator E.ON has announced.

The 4 x 500MW power station is dual-fired and capable of operating on coal and oil.

Units three and four are currently operating at near full capacity of 485MW and have not been affected by the fire.

Unit one will also come on line later in the week following tests.
