GS Engineering and Construction will build one of the world's largest tidal power stations in Seoul for Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power.

The power unit is expected to generate 2.41 billion units per year, equivalent to the energy produced by 3.54 million barrels of fuel.

The power station, to be located on the west coast near Ganghwa Island, 50km west of Seoul, South Korea, is expected to be completed in 2017.

South Korea is also building three other tidal power plants along its west coast.
