Doosan Wins India Power Deal

South Korean Power Plant Manufacturer Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction said it has secured a $1bn order to build a coal-fired power plant in India.

The 1.2 trillion won (₩) deal was signed with India's GMR Energy, Doosan Heavy said, adding it would build the power plant in the city of Raipur by 2013, reports AFP.

Doosan Heavy said it would provide equipment worth ₩859bn to its Indian unit, Doosan Projects India.

In 2007 Doosan Heavy won a $1.22bn order to build a power plant at Mundra in the western Indian state of Gujarat.
