US based utility NV Energy said that it has signed a 20-year deal to buy power from a geothermal power plant being developed by Ram Power Corp. in central Nevada.

The 32MW Clayton Valley Geothermal Project is expected to begin generating electricity by 2014.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, reports the Associated Press.

The plant is being developed on one of five geothermal leases that Ram acquired from the Bureau of Land Management.
